Throughout my career as an architect, I have approached the study of landscape and the environment. In my projects, my approach has been rooted in sustainable design, through the recovery of ancestral ways of inhabiting spaces in harmony with nature.
During one of my trips to Paris, I visited Parc de la Villette. At that time, I came across a live broadcast of Radio La Colifata (dedicated to community mental health).
On a hot summer day, under the shade of Folie No. 4, we danced and freely shared different perspectives on the world in a public space.
At that moment, I understood that in order to discover new narratives, we must listen to those whom history has systematically left on the margins.
Many of the unheard are carriers of a different kind of wisdom, one that can guide us through this time of planetary crisis and the epidemic of mental health disorders linked to the lifestyles we tend to lead in the cities.
In the months that followed, I volunteered at the NGO. I supported social reintegration activities connected to sustainable practices, mainly related to self-managed food production cooperatives and the cultivation of aromatic plants.
In these experiences, I recognised a clear and honest intention of care among the participants, but above all, I encountered the poetic essence that runs through these other subjectivities.
